Permalink fuckyeahtattoos: Got this lovely piece of work done about a week ago by Mike at Inksomnia in Alpharetta, Georgia!  The concept is a guiding star—taken from a vintage star chart from the 1880’s.  It’s symbolic to me of remembering where I come from and having the courage to put those lessons to good use in the future.  I’m so excited about it and I couldn’t have asked for a much better first tattoo experience. Go see Mike!

Permalink fuckyeahtattoos: “May it be a light to you in dark places when all other lights go out” A quote by J.R.R. Tolkien in The Fellowship of The Ring, but the story behind wanting this has nothing to do with the book. I was told when I was younger the when lights went out it was a guardian angel giving you a sign they were watching over you. Every time I have a bad day or night, lights always go out and it reminds me of my grandfather who passed when I was 7, hence the street lamp. I got it on the 15th anniversary of his death, and it’s honestly my favorite of all of mine. Done at Route 42 Tattoo in Ohio by Rob Harper.
Permalink fuckyeahtattoos: chest piece by ryan mason at scapegoat tattoo in portland, or when i was younger my mom and i would always say to each other “i love you more than all the poopie in the world that ever was or ever will be” which when you think about it, thats a lot of poopie.  thats dinosaur poopie and insect poopie, from today and yesterday and tomorrow… all the way from the beginning of the world to the end of it.  i ended up getting the last part of our saying with the northern hemisphere and (eventual) yellow roses with one white rose.  so stoked on how its coming along and really grateful for my amazing tattoo artist.
